Doris Leach DaQuila

Funeral services were held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 23, at Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit for Doris Leach DaQuila, 93 of McComb, who passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Covington Ridge Assisted Living Center in Collins, MS.

Dr. David Millican did officiate the services and interment followed in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit were in charge of arrangements. Visitation was from 9:30AM until 11AM on September 23, at the Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.

Her pallbearers were family members and friends.

Mrs. DaQuila was born on July 2, 1933, in Florien, LA, to Moses Vandy Leach and Oma Busby Leach. She graduated from Florien High School Class of 1951 and went to work immediately for South Central Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. Mrs. DaQuila retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company and A.T. & T. after 40 years of service. She was a member of the South McComb Baptist Church in McComb. Mrs. DaQuila was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and will be dearly missed by her family members and friends. She found great joy in working in her yard, tending to her flowers, and keeping a beautiful home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses Vandy Leach and Oma Busby Leach; her husband, Philip "Buddy" DaQuila, Jr.; 2 brothers, Lester W. Leach and Dan G. Leach; and 3 sisters, Coda Leach Wright, June Leach Martin, and Louise Leach Davis.

Survivors include 2 sons, Philip DaQuila, III, and Chris A. DaQuila; 2 brothers, Jack Mack Leach and Jimmy Leach; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
